AMAZING SHORT RIBS: Submitted by: Elle | Date Added: 2 Jan 2012
Listed in: Main Courses
Ingredients

1.SHORT RIBS WITH BONE - HAVE YOUR BUTCHER CUT THEM APART INTO SQUARES (ONCE ACROSS AND EACH SEPARATE LENGTH WISE)
2. RED WINE
3. SUGAR
4. WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
5. MUSTARD
6. LEMON JUICE
7. CRUSHED GARLIC
8. SALT
9. PEPPER
10. ROSEMARY
11. THYME

Cooking Instructions

1. TAKE YOUR SHORT RIBS AND WITH A KNIFE SCORE THE MEAT LIKE A TIC TAC TOE BOARD ALL THE WAY TO THE BONE BUT MAKE SURE THE MEAT STAYS ATTACHED TO THE BONE. THIS IS TO ALLOW THE FLAVOR IN WHILE THE MEAT MARINATES.

2. COMBINE INGREDIENTS 2-11 TO CREATE A SAUCE TO TASTE - THIS WAS A VERY ORGANIC PROCESS FOR ME THAT I JUST BLENDED TOGETHER AND YOU CAN'T GO WRONG.

3. LIGHTLY SALT AND PEPPER THE RIBS THEN ADD THE SAUCE AND LET IT MARINATE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR.

4. PLACE INTO THE ACTIFRY FOR 25 MINUTES. THE RESULT IS AMAZING AND MAKING THESE BEFORE THE ACTIFRY USED TO BE A 4 HOUR PROCESS! THEY COME OUT AS THOUGH THEY'VE BEEN BRAISED AND COOKED ALL DAY. ENJOY!!

Marinaded ribs and cooked for 25 minutes. The meat did not fall off the bone and the cleaning of the Actifry was a real challenge. Not a patch on the slow cook oven method. Left by: Habsish (27 Apr 2013)

I am going to try this for new years eve Left by: Sandra (27 Dec 2012)

Yes, what are the measurements. Not much use without, evenif one customises it Left by: Darryl (7 Aug 2012)

Gave this ago and added the dash of cider vinegar and judged measurements by taste started with a large glass of wine and 2spn of sugar&worchester sauce then tspn for mustard dash of lemon juice and 2cloves of garlic, you really must keep tasting till ur satisfied with the flavour. Cooked for 20-25mins and they were stunning definitely be cooking again :-) Left by: Tracy (30 Jan 2012)

Hi Kim, I made this sauce combining all the ingredients and just judged it by taste - using the wine, sugar and worschester as the base. The herbs I added imparted a delightful flavor and aroma and the lemon and mustard gave it the acidic kick for a great balance. I think a dash of cider vinegar would have been great in there as well but I didn't have it on hand. Left by: elle (3 Jan 2012)
